Just Married!!

Last weekend Genevieve and I were married at Christ Lutheran on Capital Hill!

We had a mini-honeymoon in Stillwater and I am not back to work trying to take care of paperwork and such.

In Stillwater we at at Luna Rossa and Phil's Tara Hideaway for dinner...and at The Madcapper for lunch. We got to watch the MnDot crews repair the lift bridge and we painted bowls at ArtRageous!

It was a relaxing two days and if we had more free time it would have been fun to spend the entire week somewhere.

Now we need to complete decompression from the marriage weekend though.

I may post more details on the ceremony itself later, but I just wanted to say "Thanks!" to everyone who shared a part of our special day!

my second (and last) bridal shower

This weekend I leave for Rhinelander Wisconsin to go to a bridal shower at my mother's friend's house.  Her friend, Sharann, has only met me a few times so I really appreciate that she wants to have a party for me.  My grandmother, aunt Helen, and I are all driving up north today for a saturday brunch shower.

Jon's saturday will not include any brunches but instead drunken mayhem.  Have a great bachelor party guys!

Family Alert!!

We are only three weeks out! If you have not received or you know of anyone in the family who has not received an invitation please let us know and we will correct the situation!

Genevieve and I are on a working-vacation to Cincinatti and are currently staying at the house of the maid-of-honor. We spent Saturday night with one of the bridsemaids in Chiacgo!

That is all for now!

Bachelor Party

I am taking off work from June 16th through the 23rd.

I am hoping the Bachelor Party will be on the 2nd or 11th of June but who knows?

I sent off an e-mail asking that those dates get looked at. I hope it is something fairly low-key and not involving illegal activity but it will likely be a little crazy.

Groomsmen e-mail...I sent this out 5 min ago

You are all my Best Men, but since I am forced to declare a Best Man and Jason and Brent BOTH told me to pick the other guy, my Best Man will be Jason Schwalen.

My Groomsmen will be Brent Glass, Chris Lynch, JJ Jouppi, and Timmy D. The ringbearer will be: Carter Schwalen.
  • Jason will be in charge of all wedding-day operations.
  • Brent AND Jason will have to coordinate bachelor-part operations together.
  • Timmy D. is in charge of Wedding Reception music.
  • Chris Lynch will be responsible for dancing with single women and drinking more than JJ Jouppi.
  • JJ will be responsible for dancing with single women and drinking more than Chris Lynch.

You will all be expected to make a toast at the rehearsal dinner (informal, roast me, I can take it) and at the wedding (formal, roast me but keep it clean, say nice things about Genevieve)

I will send out a list of people to be included on Bachelor Party operations by Saturday.

Pastor Sue

We met with the pastor.

It was OK. She tried to sell us on the "you can ask for God's blessing, but you need to become a part of the community of God" kild of schpiel. It wasn't over the top...but if being a part of the community of God means tithes, guilt and the rest...I don't know how I will be willing to accept it.

I do not believe the whole "me and Jesus and our personal relationship" but I believe that one can have a private relationship with Jesus. It doesn't make you less of a man or woman simply because you do not want to parade your faith around the church pews every Sunday.

I am sure several religious people will tell me I am wrong, but I disagree.

Anyway, the Pastor has no problem marrying us and will invoke a few "Our Fathers" for good measure.
