Pastor Sue

We met with the pastor.

It was OK. She tried to sell us on the "you can ask for God's blessing, but you need to become a part of the community of God" kild of schpiel. It wasn't over the top...but if being a part of the community of God means tithes, guilt and the rest...I don't know how I will be willing to accept it.

I do not believe the whole "me and Jesus and our personal relationship" but I believe that one can have a private relationship with Jesus. It doesn't make you less of a man or woman simply because you do not want to parade your faith around the church pews every Sunday.

I am sure several religious people will tell me I am wrong, but I disagree.

Anyway, the Pastor has no problem marrying us and will invoke a few "Our Fathers" for good measure.

wedding invitations are in the mail!

I had them weighted in at the post office this morning.  They came in at a 37 cent stamp as planned.  Woohoo!  One more project done.

We also met with Pastor Sue today.  It turns out the compatability test we took back in January confirmed what we already knew - we are compatible.  Now we just have one more meeting(of 3) with the pastor to determine the ceremony elements.

I guess we should start a countdown of days...we're in at less than 8 weeks from W-day now.

Weekend Tasks

We are getting invitations together this weekend to send out Monday at the latest. If you do not get an invitation by April 29th, then let us know and we can re-send an invite.

We also went and got wedding bands today. I opted for a plain gold band and Genevieve is opting for a plain white gold band.

We both kind of figured that since the REAL money was spent on the rock for the engagement ring, we could spend a regular amount of money on the bands.

When you heat my ring in a fire the following inscription becomes visible:

"Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."
